Re: Problem with drivers
Actually the driver is very difficult. Even Tiger has trouble with it. There was a thread on this site encouraging people to try to play an entire game with only a 7 iron, 9 iron, Pitching Wedge and a putter. If you're a beginner, I'd try that. It makes a lot of sense to learn to play with a couple of clubs.

Re: Problem with drivers
Leave it in the bag. Groove a good swing with the shorter clubs and when you have a good swing go for another lesson with you PGA pro to look at the driver.
You don;t need to hit a driver yet, you will be more consistent and thus score better with an iron off the tee or try a three wood.
If you are hitting the other clubs well then take 3 irons to the par 5 is better than than a drive into trouble, a recovery shot and two more to the green!

I think at this stage everyone else in the world has agreed that you need to hit the driver on the upswing.
Sorry, thats everyone bar the well known Blaise.
You have been playing for 2 days...
You *should* still be trying to hit a 7 iron at every opportunity and nothing lower than that.
As was pointed out earlier, its a bloody hard game, dont ruin your potential swing by trying to do too much, too soon.

Re: Problem with drivers
The answer to your question is "no" - it is the same grip for the driver as all other clubs x for the putter. Having said that, if you are a beginner, I would strongly encourage you to take some lessons and ingrain good habits from the start. Usually a pro will look at 3 essential elements of the address
1) Proper grip
2) Proper alignment
3) Proper stance.
From their, you simply turn back and through and thats all there is to it. Its really an easy game - don't listen the members above LOL

Congratulation To A Two Days Of Good Golf!!
And Like Greeboman Said Never Stop To Use Any Club In You Bag
Yes It Will Ruin Some Days But...the More You Use Them The More Experience You Will Get And Some Day In The Future All Of Them Will Click In And You Will Said ...it Is... Priceless!

Re: Problem with drivers
The driver is the most difficult of your clubs to hit straight and make good contact consistently. Your driver has the longest shaft of all your clubs so any flaw will be accentauted in the long path the club head has to travel. Don't give up on it but think about using other clubs off the tee when possible. You probably run into a lot of Par 4's 350 to 375 yards where a three or five wood will get you enough distance to make a shot at the green. Really narrow holes are good candidates for three woods, five woods and even low irons. When you get a shot at a relatively wide open fairway, give the driver a shot. Mixing things up like this off the tee should result in better scores for you.
