Fade

Hi I have developed this fade on my ball. When I Drive the ball starts perfectly on line, but then seems to drift slightly to the right through a fade. I am having difficulty correcting this problem. I have an idea it may be weight transfer or grip problems. It is realy not that big a fade, just drifting me into the semi rough or so. I would like to start hitting drives in the middel. Please somebody help.

1. its better to have a fade or a draw with a driver than hit it strait, with a fade you know it going to trun in from the left ever time but hit it strait and it can go left or right.

Things to make sure about:

* Driver shaft. Is this stiffer then the other clubs? A stiffer shaft will tend to slice.
* Open face at impact with a good path. This is my guess. If you are straight for the first 50 yards or so, and it just falls into a slice, your imparting slight sidespin on the ball. All this really means is that your face is late in returning to square. Things to work on:
** Ball position is forward (around the front heal)
** You are rotating onto your front leg that is perfectly balanced at impact. No sliding the hips to get extra distance.
** Shoulders are rotated past square at impact. This means your hands will lag back to counter this upper torso move. BUT, make sure your hands have fully released from their cocked up position back to the setup's down position...not swatting to release, but extending back downward.
** This action of rolling the arms through impact will happen naturally...no forcing them around. If you do, you risk another timing element that is as hard to perfect as the hands do when they swat. So make it simple and just turn/rotate for power and use the arms/hands to create the shapes and control the ball flight.

What type of driver do you use? It could be also the internal weight of the club head.

But I am not sure that I would charactorize a fade as a problem. A lot of great golfers have a power fade as their primary drive. They just start the drive to the left hand side of the fairway and let it drift back to the center.

Just wondering about this. I had a regular flex shaft and if I swung hard the shaft was still flexed when I hit the ball and I would slice everytime. I changed to a stiff flex and it straightened my drive out. Could it be possible that he has too fast a swingspeed for the flex in his shaft? By changing my shaft I went from a terrible slice to a beautiful little draw.
