Just a question for Golfbald, I clicked into your personal details and it says you have a 7 handicap. How come you are a golf swing engineer if your handicap is so high. Dont get me wrong, I think your advice is excellent but how come your handicap isnt lower?

    Just curious!

    Hi Studyfreak,

Thank you for your kind words about the advise.

The question about the 7 hcp. This has been the summer from hell for the bald guy. Too much travel for work and no practice time. I also had some corrective surgery on my right elbow again. That's a killer for a hitter. A swinger could get away with that I think. I also changed driver and 3 wood shafts this summer. So having to retime my swing a little caused a few points jump. Spring and fall are the best times to play in Louisiana. I've been keying on the Fall season with alot of corrections during summer.

I play whether I shoot good or not, or I am working on some things, you record everything. Eighteen holes is Eighteen holes, you log every score to handicap. I know people who only submit good rounds and cheat themselves out of inprovement but are proud to carry a low handicap until they have to play to it. They call the bad ones "practice rounds".

I am generally around a 2. I've carried as low a plus 1 at one point. I played alot of golf then. With all the travel I've played a lot of unfamiliar courses the summer. Not knowing your way around, you tend to shoot higher.

There are alot of reasons but no excusses. I still study new things and do everything I can to improve. I won't have anyone try anything I haven't tested. I love the game and will help anyone who needs it. Sometimes you have to shoot higher to get lower in the end. Always play to your true handicap. The system only works if you record everything.

The changes are coming together, I shot a 69 yesterday!!!

      I can empathize

I have a handicap of 3-indexed but I actually play to a 6. I too have changed some swing elements and switched to different shafts so I understand. It takes time to incorporate the changes, I think the 21 day rule is overrated.

        Tom,

I think I've restarted that 21 day window 5 or 6 times this summer!!!

          Studyfreak,

When this thread started I thought Datman was going to comment on the Homer Kelly issue. I don't think he ever got back to me on that. That thread was GolfBald too.
