  • How to make a good release consistently

I know how to sustain the lag and have no casting form the top. Sometimes I can make a good release and flat left at impact and flat right after impact but sometimes can’t have both and have an early release. I think I have something not paying attention and therefore create inconsistency. What possible problem I may have?

    Thanks!

it sounds like you are disconecting.... try to point your elbow creases more upward which in turn brings your arms closer together (a smaller triangle) more with the right arm than the left.

if that doesn't help then try the secret or the answer and gregs RHD as below http://members.cox.net/gregjwillis/LESSON1.htm

    try the impact drill too.

You may not be leading the downswing to impact with the hands ahead. Try setting up especially with irons with hands ahead at address, more for shorter irons less with longer irons.
Putting hands ahead delofts the club a little but you will have a better chance of releasing at impact rather than early.

what is the ball flight when you feel you are not swinging correctly?

a bad release is the effect of another cause, the release is pretty easy and natural. Do you ever tape yourself? There are multiple reasons, but the main ones are maintaining spine angle, good club face position in the backswing amd good initiating of the down swing

Just back from trip and have a practice in driving range. Sorry for the late reply.

lgskywalker37, the left hand cock of RHD can add power to my swing but not easy to manipulate and will practice more.

msklar92, when not feeling the right swing, the ball flight is very high but distance loss very little, may be within 10%.

shootin4par, your advise will absolutely remind me to make a good swing. It’s a pity I have no camcorder.

After practice with all your advice, I guess I found the main problem. I can’t hit down the ball consistently so ball launch at a higher angle, high ball flight and quick finish with bend left and right arm. If I can hit down, I feel solid, well compressed, ball flight from low to high, longer distance, clear feeling of flat left impact and flat right after, both hand straight, nice followthrough and finish action. But I really don’t know why sometimes I can hit down but sometimes not. I’ve deliberately tried to hit the ball first and then the ground but my swing hinder me to do that which make me crazy

Re: How to make a good release consistently

You are swaying off the ball which makes it hard to hit down because you are too busy trying not to fall down.
Seriously, try turning left shoulder behind the ball and transferring weight from left foot to INSIDE of right foot. You can put a ball under the outside of your right foot to get the feeling of this transfer.
              In any case, don't sway-turn
