  • Trolley

I know this really should be in golf equipment section, but this section is viewed by more people. I'm considering buying a motorised golf trolley and I'm trying to decide between the Motocaddy S1 and the Powakaddy classic legend. Has anyone used either of these and which would you recommend? I'm sick of carrying my bag now!

Anyone I know that's bought a motorised trolley has said they reckon it's taken a few shots off their score! I've carried my bag for too long now and my course is hilly.

Well, I don't have any experience with power caddies, but I think they're a great idea. The best golf I've played is when someone has carried my bag (I get sore riding in a cart).

@ ricky: manboobs and a pot belly... I know a left handed player who matches that description that's won a few tournies this year. Feller by the name of Mickelson.

it may be nice to not have to carry your golf bag, but why not just get a man powerd drag cart? i didn't even know they made powered carts before this post.

YOU can open your own posts and edit them afterwards. Helpful if you make a spelling mistake etc and you notice after you click submit.

Maybe you could change the offending word.... ? Not only are there kids but there are also many female members and the "T-word" is very offensive in some countries.

                        Re: Trolley

                        Meanwhile, back at the thread...

I use an un-motorized hand cart, because carrying the bag throws my shoulder out of whack.

I don't like riding in carts anymore. I do almost as much walking when riding as I do when walking a pull cart! Especially if there is a cart path only rule. Walking the long walk across the fairway, or to the other side of the green only to realize I have the wrong club. I get nervous about how much time I'm taking and hit the club I have.

I find that the speed of driving a cart speeds up my perception of pace, so I get real quick over shots and don't give them decent pre-shot time. I don't find driving in a cart relaxing at all.

The pace of walking suits my pace in my swing and pre-shot routine, so I find I score better with walking.

when I refer to a motorised golf trolley, I don't mean a caddy car, I mean a 'push' trolley without the pushin'!

                            Re: Trolley

Golf isn't as fun without the walk. Walking is pretty good for you as well. I use a stand bag, I find it very convenient. Yes I have to be judicious with what I bring with me on the course but as long as it doesn't suddenly rain I'm ok.

My beef is when you have a 4-some of walkers and the 4 some behind driving carts sits on your tail the whole round.

Last week we walked and we were keeping up with the group ahead of us. So there was no way to go faster. But the group behind would rush up as quickly as possible and sit there lurking while we took our shots. On the 16th they actually shot as we were leaving the green. Balls were dropping 10 ft behind me.

I understand it's frustrating to have to hang back all the time, but I think it's very bad form to make dangerous plays. What if their shot was bladed etc and the shot hit someone?

Anyone remember that funny scene in the movie "Sideways"?
