when you are talking mental imagery you are talking feel. ask someone to feel as if they are trying to do that and it may work for them. for someone else they may need a different mental image that they can feel they are doing. for golfers the best thing they can do is try and first learn the mechanical position, and then associate that with the feel that stands out in their mind. An example would be to do gregs wall drill to put yoursef in a good impact position and then find the feeling you need that will put you there
