  • RE: Consistency improvement

I'm having problems with the consistency of my shots. I can hit the most sweet and straight shots and then some it just goes wrong. This is holding me back on becoming a below 10 handicapper. I try to keep my routine(During my swing and preshot, alignment etc.) constant, but I dont know why sometimes it goes wrong. This is becoming frustrating. I believe I can become a constant below 80 player but the consistency is just not there.
    Any advise?

    Hi Christo,

Every golf player will have some level of inconsistency in their game, the great Jack Nicklaus said that he only had around three great shots in a round. I guess the greats have less bad ones.

You can take good coaching, keep working on your swing and groove it more and more into a form of repeatability that will give you your best.

Make sure you work on all aspects of your game, long, medium and short (especially chipping and putting), get the mental side of your game established so that you always visualise your shot, get a great pre-shot routine that puts you firmly in the "Zone" as you move to take your shot, also manage the course for layout and weather conditions.

This may sound a little cheesy but "Believe in yourself, you can do it!"
