    Re: question on weight distribution

personally, like mr hogan, I like the weight favoring the heels. since our heels are in line with our legs this is what we rotate around. , we do not rotate around the balls of our feet. but then again other people may disagree so you might have to dig it out of the dirt for yourself.

60/40 is correct, BUT you must pay attention to how your getting that 60/40. The average player seems to think he can just shuttle his hips back, moving the weight, that is incorrect. You tilt the upper body away from the target, this places the extra weight on the right side, while leaving the hips where they were, head and upper body are the heavier parts of the body. This upper body tilt is also done with irons, but the hips are moved forward (towards the target) to compensate for the tilt, thereby making the weight 50/50.

As for weight front to back, weight is maintain on the balls, to allow the balls of the feet, front of knees and arm pits to all be in a vertical line, balance is maintained much easier this way, the butt and head counter balance each other out.
