  • Help!

    Hi,

I'm a 14hc and have been playing solid golf all year. I played 18 holes last week and started to shank the ball!! Whilst on the course I could not seem to fix the problem and I only managed to hit around 10 decent shots....I'd be grateful for some advice as this is really getting to me...thanks

    hi
it could be yor set up, take a few pratic swings and see where your club first clips the grass and check your not to close to the ball making it hard for your hands to clear your hips,
another tip is to put talc on the clubface to see where your striking the ball. do you address the ball with the club head up of the ground if you do you might be better lining up the club more towards the toe.

      Re: Help!

Remember, a shank is when you it the ball off the hosel. You really cannot shank the ball if you it it anywhere else on the club face, except I suppose if you hit is directly off the end of the toe. A quick fix on the course is to put your weight more back on your heels to prevent your weight from going foward on the downsing moving the hosel into the ball.
