on the throughswing, aim for the inside quarter of the ball. This will help you to come from the inside. check with your pro, but if your pulling the club back too inside you may want to go to a slightly open stance with your feet rather than a closed stance.
if you divide the ball into 4 quarters with perpindicular lines, this would be the quarter that closest to you. The main point is you do not want to hit the ball on the outside quarter or on the directly in back of the ball on the line intersecting the quarters. Hope this doesn't totally confuse you.
To make it simpler, draw a circle around the ball. put the ball on the tee with the circle parallel to the target line. No turn the ball slightly clockwise. Now, hit the circle part of the ball. Hope this helps Mike.
It is hard to accept the rubbish that appears when you are making swing changes. But having been there over the last month or so, I have to say that it was worth the horror and depression when I finally got what I wanted. If your coach is making changes for you and you trust him, then stay with it. Eventually when it starts to come good, you will be delighted with the result and hopefully have a game that will have been worth the strain and perseverance.
I haven't given up with it - I swing my momentus swing trainer 60 times a day and try and implement the changes on the driving range, but when I play, I just hit it without thinking and it hasn't hurt my scoring yet.
