  • Starting to Hit again

    Guys,

Last week I was hooking the ball so bad I almost quit the game. I was getting discouraged. Today I went to the range and the same thing was happening. When I had ten balls left to hit I tried to shorten my backswing quite a bit and all of a sudden I was hitting the ball strait again. Hmmm. I felt so happy just to hit the ball again I played a round by myself and shot a 85. I was hitting the ball pretty well using my shortened backswing. I think I was just overswinging causing my clubface to close. I put the ball on the green at every par 3 today and hit alot of good appraoch shots too. Now I can look forward to golf again. Just gotta remeber not to overswing.

Yeah I've shortened my backswing to just parallel and it has done wonders - less to think about, and just perfect tempo to get back down with a late hit. My downswing is just one motion of "pulling down the rope" (as if pulling down on a bell) with clearing the body and just letting go.

Glad to hear things are back on track. Weard how 1 little fault can destroy your whole game.
