    Re: My Swing - Advice

The swing setter cliks in the backswing at wrist set,and then it would clik in your casting move,if the settings are right. You would be able to tell if your casting. Due to the cliks being close togetter, and not at impact.

      Re: My Swing - Advice

I had a bit of a Eureka moment yesterday. I think my grip has been wrong. I moved the ball up in my stance to where it should be and stood taller and tried to keep my legs quieter. I was having mixed results. A few nice shots a few shanks but I wasn’t too despondent. Then I changed my grip slightly. I’d been gripping it with my left hand in the palm with my finger wrapped round it. I changed it so I was gripping with the club in my fingers and the ball of my hand. Not in the palm. I have to say it felt strange but when I hit the ball it felt crisp and the ball flight was more penetrating. Is this correct? Should that be how I grip with my left hand? I still had a few shanks but I think that down to getting used to the new ball position. I think the grip change helped my stop casting so much.

        Hi Daz,

Sorry to hear about the S****s, that can be due to hitting out to in, getting too close to the ball or having your weight too much on the front of your feet.

Grip: Absolutely correct, have the club running from the pad just below your little finger and crossing your index finger between the second and third knuckle. Don't allow your left thumb to extend down the club too much, keep it short as a long left thumb causes tension in the joints of the hand and restricts flexibility.

I'm not too bothered abotu the S*****s at the moment. I'm sure that'll be ironed out when i get used to my new ball position. It's felt good though after i changed my grip slightly. I'm going to the range at lunch.

I got spotted last night at the range by somebody from this forum. How wierd is that??

Just went to the range. No s***ks everything was groovy. This new grip has given me about 10 yards extra per club. Could it be that It’s stopped me casting so much? I feel like I grip the club less tightly now. I almost feel like it could fly out of my hand if I swing to hard. Ball Position was 2½ inches off left heal with 7 iron. I tried to stop my legs moving too much on the back swing. Ball flight about 165 in the air. I’m happy. I pulled a few but over all I’m happy.
