Re: Mental training - samurai golf?

    hi
playing off the snow with an orange ball does work, its like playing off the sandy beach, your timing has to be right, its a great pratice but you do get cold quick, my feet tell me when to stop when they start to go numb, have played a full round once, you use the rake to clear the soft snow to make a path for your ball to the hole, its fun but not someting i'd do often, ok to pratice a few hole i think.

Re: Mental training - samurai golf?

If I were a real samurai, I would play bare fooded

I suggested that our club would make a winter course. We do have winter golf competitions, too. http://talvigolf.fi/english/

But that's little later, more in the spring like February - March, when it's warmer like under - 10 C. (It's now about -10, but it feels cold after the summer. After winter when it has been under - 30 C, anything under -10 is warm.

BUT I will certainly hit balls from snow this winter...

Hannu, you are really dedicated to this game of golf!! Here in Ireland if it drizzles and its 10 degree, I consider not playing!!

          Hi Robert,

I feel as being "eager" - just a newbie. I started just one year a go. Dedication comes after many years of playing.

At the moment it's very easy to be exited. I have so much to learn - and I just realized that learning about golf is learning about "me". How I take the pressure under tension.

First thing is to stat to recognize mental stress. I have not noticed physical changes - or at the moment I am more aware of them in "real" life too. Yesterday at work - I toke some deep breaths - just like in my pre-swing routine, before commenting about a difficult issue at work. (Mental training:-)
