  • Pushing My irons.

I am striking the ball very crisply, but I seem to be pushing my irons about 15 - 20 yards off line. My swing plane is coming from the inside. What do I need to do to straighten my shot out. I haven't been that upset with this because i am coming from the inside, and I have been hitting the ball good. I feel like I'm a fraction of an inch off from a straight shot or a slight draw.

    Thanks in advance,

    Nick

try to strengthen your grip a bit, if that dont help you are probebly coming from the inside to much, if ball flight is straight you probebly need a stonger grip.

The ball does fly straight. No cut spin. I will try to strengthen the grip a little to see if that helps. I do have a somewhat neutral grip so, that may just be the case. Don't know why I haven't tried that yet. Just wondering if there was another way I guess, cause my grip feels comfortable.

In addition to what was posted above, try closing your club face a little at address. You might start hitting a draw if the rest of your swing is ok. I play with a nuetral grip, and a slighty closed stance, with a closed club face keeps me in the short stuff most of the time. Another idea to try is to move the ball a bit forward in your stance at address. Keep your body the same as you normally do. Your club face is square to the path your club is taking when it impacts the ball, and is the reason your ball flight is going straight right. Moving the ball forward will allow more time for the club face to close. I'd start with a 1/4 inch forward. It doesn't take much.

After saying all this, as WW911 posted, your nuetral grip is probaly the culprit. GJS
