    Hi All,
I'm a starter and I'm right handed. Should I keep my left arm straight all the time when I swing? I tried to keep it straight and suffered pain on left side of my chest. Does it felling muscle pain mean that I was doing improper swing?

    Thanks

    Re: arm posture

Definatly. Sounds like you are not rotating your shoulders, but wrapping your arm around your chest.

Let the torso and shoulder rotation back cause the arms to rotate about the spine. Then just simply let the arms raise UP to the top.

      Re: arm posture

Some people will tell you to keep the left arm as straight as you can, some will tell you it's ok to have a bit of bent at the elbow. I personally feel it's best to retain the feeling that you are keeping it straight, because a video will most likely show that you are still bending it somewhat. So if you feel like you let it bend a bit, you might be overdoing it too much.

Where does your left shoulder end up at the top of your swing?
