    Mate just keep playing!

That looks a very SOLID swing! Not many moveing parts and very simple!

I honestly cant see anything major wrong.

The only thing i can see it your shoulders look slightly open at address.

But serious, just keep doing what your doing and improveing!

any way you can do face on and in the day time? too hard to see much. you look like your shoulders may be too far past your toes and that would cause balance issues maybe either lifting up in the backswing or coming across the line in the downswing but the video is hard to see and you cannot stop it frame by frame

          hi shootin
that was my 1st attempt with a little 4mp olympus
i am borrowing a camcorder at the weekend so hopefully i will capture some better clips.
BTW i see your point about shoulders being past the toes but as a rule my posture is normally more upright than that!

look forward to seeing that. also, you may want to post the vid in slow motion. Now dont get me wrong, the shoulders can be past the toes, but that just looks a little too far, good luck

              Slater

Swing looks very good to me. Obviously camera does not help to do a detailed analysis of swing plane, plus the side on view would be good.

From the ball flight, did the ball fade, or was it drawing back, and did you hit the target?

I have watched the John Jacobs DVDs, who uses the doctrine of ball flights to improve swings. I know people go on about, opening shoulders, closed stances and so forth, which is all good, but also pay attention to the flight of the ball. Basically Jacobs, says ball direction problem (ie not going where it should be) is a problem with club face alignment at impact. Flight of the ball is a result of the swing path and angle of attack.

Remember Ben Hogan, changed his stance throughout the clubs, closed with the longer clubs and open with the shorter irons (on a gradual basis). On Jim McCleans analysis of Hogan he noted how Hogan's stance was closed with the driver, but shoulders where open.

I heartedly recommend Jacobs DVDs and I picked them up for a steal on Amazon (all 4) for about £13 from Ireland.

Remember as Jacobs said "ball flight is your best teacher", but video analysis can undoubtledly help also.

Good posture in the set-up. Straight back, rear out and chin up. All good positions for sure. It looks lke you may have a little movement vertically (dip) in the swing which could lead to consistency issues. On the nice flat mat of the range, the adjustment necessary with that move are easier to achieve than out on the course where 95% of the lies are somewhat uneven. You obviously have good speed and power. Looks real good overall.

                    thanks timothy
when you say dip do you mean not retaining spine angle?
i have got some better footage now if i can get my computer to work properly and download the new videos

                      Ian,

Cant see much wrong. Other than a minute in to out on the downswing. That swing should have you playing good golf. I wouldnt change anything.

                        Hey Slater:

Actually it looks like to you maintain the spine angle and you don't seem to come totally out of the shot. You just seem to dip your head and shoulders a little at the start of the backswing which means you would compensate for that at some point in the remainder of the swing. With the irons, very little vertical movement of the head is preferred.

Again it is a solid looking swing with good speed and it is aggresive. The ball seemed to explode off the clubface.

That's probably not how you swing when hitting a ball. I recommend getting outside and warm up on the range then swing with a ball on the ground or teed up with driver.
Its too easy to have a perfect swing inside the house although I will say balance is a problem for you even without a ball.
