    Re: Pulling irons

Having read this carefully I believe this is what I am doing wrong. I will take it to the range and play with it and let you know how it goes.
    Many thanks

      Re: Pulling irons

i also find that when i am pulling i happen to have an open stance. if your stance is too open you will have to hit out to in (unless you change the natural DS course), giving it a weak glacing blow

but i like to have a fluid swing and have no compensating moves if posable, i believe anytime you compensate for a "wrong" move it the BS,setup etc you have sapped a bit of power in the DS.

        Re: Pulling irons

Just a quick addendum. I played my bounce game this weekend and started pulling all my drives. After a few holes I asked one of the lower handicap boys we play with to see if he could spot anything and he thought I was rushing the transition and my tempo was off.

Simply put in my swing I have that little pause at the top that allows the body to re-balance itself before the downswing starts. I was in such a hurry to hit the ball I was too quick and lost that pause, lost my balance and was coming OTT. I have a fiarly brisk BS tempo anyway so that pause is a must for my rythmn

Once I thought about that little pause, properly completing the backswing I could then really rip into the DS knowing I was better balanced

Just something that may be worth thinking about
