  • Help: "that means your hands can't go through"

I was playing today, and not that well, when I joined up with a couple for the last 5 holes; which are 4 3 3 5 3; me = 5 3 4 5 4, the relevance of which follows.

After the 1st hole we played, the lady of the pair (and the better golfer of the 3 of us) said "did you know you ...that means your hands can't go through", so I made the change she suggested and with better putting that last 5 could have just been 1 over.

Thing is I don't actually know what hands going through means, and given the difference it seemed to make, I'd quite like to.

    Anyone?

    Hi bdbl,

I would suggest that what she meant was that the hands go through the ball from takeaway to finish. If you can picture the putter as being a pendulum and your hands being attached at the top. To get this feeling rock your shoulders and arms together in one movement. you should not even feel your hands working. If you get this right I am sure you will understand what she meant. Hope I have explained wel enough to you

    Cheers,
    Robert
