    Brian,

Excellent idea for an article and I look forward to you expanding it.

I've posted it here because I'm not sure of the etiquette for responding in an article thread.

      Hi Brian

      Working on this.

As a matter of interest where are your hands in relation to ball & feet positions - particularly with a wood off the tee.

        Hi,

Each club has it's own lie angle and this should be respected when addressing the ball so that the correct loft is in use. Simply put, you should position each club behind the ball, square to target and take your grip with respect to the natural lie of the club. This will position the hands and shaft a suitable amount forward of the ball.

        Hope that is clear?

          Thanks Brian

That makes sense - I'll check out Cmay's video later.

This post served as a very good reminder for me. During my setup I wasn't soling the clubs first. Once I did this, my posture was a litle straighter and my ball flight and distance were much improved!

            Many thanks,

            james

I like Bobby because like me, he understands the importance of the shoulders in the swing, they are the rudder to your ship. The video goes into this.

Some of you may have slow computers, allow the video at the bottom of the page to fully load and then bring it back to the start position.

Say thanks to Pure Point Golf for this video.

This is not to pull away from Brian's Post, but to add our most favorite icing to our own cake.
              Dear Cmays,

I respect your deep knowledge with regard to the golf swing and I guess golf like most things in life is a little subjective in places.

I looked at the video and agree with this guys statements on divot patterns but I do not agree with his fix. One minute he is saying that an out to in path caused the left pointing divots the next it is an alignment problem. OK, it could be both! He then suggests that placing the ball further back will fix it!!

Surely the way to fix alignment errors is to align yourself properly. If the error is Out to In then moving the ball will not fix it.

I still believe that the correct placement of the ball is in line with the left armpit, this is where the left arm naturally lies when hanging straight down.
