  • What can you see as my problems from this still pic ?

    Hi,
I dont have a pic of my impact but you can see this "still" of my downswing.
Swatting and getting trapped on the downsing is a problem as with standing-up at impact.
My typical ball flight is too high without penetration.
Can anybody offer any advice .... looking at my pic and understanding my troubles ?

    Hi Snake,

It isnt easy to be critical without a video, but what I see is as follows:

You dont seem to have a very strong set up. get paralell on your feet with knees shoulders, and eyes. also I would suggest you dont give yourself a very wide takeaway. This is what encourages good distance and ball flight. Work on a good rotation i.e. move your hands and arms around your spine while getting that good wide takeaway. If you can put this into practice, should improve your ball strike no end. Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Robert

get a cap with a smaller peak that might help
more seriously your posture and set up look poor.
check out the lessons on here specifically posture and takeaway

You are standing flat footed prior to impact, no shoulder turn, no weight transfer.
Take an athletic stance at setup with weight on balls of your feet(not toes nor heels), get springy and keep knees flexed.
BS very slow and allow time for weight transfer and shoulder turn fully
Keep hands/arms passive in downswing and allow the handle of the club to lead the downswing with the clubhead finishing last.
check ball position and keep it back more with irons and off your left nut with woods.

          what can I tell?
bad camera angle but you are standing up too much and have very little secondary axis tilt whith will make you have a hard time getting the shoulder down plane. You also have casted from the top, lost your lag, but this also goes hand in hand with what I said about. Do because of this you will either A. have to come from the inside a lot and hit a big push or have to square the club up a lot with your arms/wrists

          B. you turn your shoulders as your swing generator and have to pull across the ball, leanding to pull hooks or pull slices
now these are the effects of things that went on earlier, not the causes of misplayed shots. What happened before this to cause this? I can speculate but would rather seee more
bad picture angle so I wont go into it anymore than that

            Hi Snake,

I concur with what has been said already. I would just add that you need to become more athletic in your swing, try to move more like a discus thrower by using your legs and torso.
