Stand next to your kitchen table (hips/legs about 1" away). Take your golf stance. Make your backswing, but don't touch the table.

Try to keep your weight on the inside of your right foot, and think more about turning around your axis in the backswing. This helped me.

I like all of these drills - thank you - i'll try them; i think my biggest problem is getting too active with my hands and arms and not my lower body

Hi there and welcome to the site.

I am a bit confused as to what your problem is? Are you swaying in the swing or lurching about due to over fast use of your arms and shoulders?

              Re: swaying

not real sure what i'm doing but it feels like i'm moving my upper torso slightly to the right when i'm taking the club back and not really making a turn; the one suggestion about starting with the weight on the left foot just seems like a good way to start/make the turn - then you almost have no choice but to shift the weight to the right side while turning; i'll try all of this on the range till i get it... thanks
