  • Hips-Rotation-Weight Shift

Yeah I know, I found other threads discussing all this but none started where I wanted to start or answered my questions. Lately when I have been hitting the ball poorly during a round I try to make sure I am making a full turn forward to bring the right hip around and get my weight going onto my left leg. Before that point I think I am just spinning around one spot and not bringing my hips with me. It gets me going every time. Why I don't start the round with this thought I don't know.

It seems exaggerated a bit. Half the time my right leg will get all the way off the ground and I will walk forward a step. But I still hit good shots. Maybe I should not think about it so much but it feels like my whole body is moving laterally towards the hole during the process. Oh, I am rotating too but lateral movement as well.

We hear that the head should be behind the ball at impact but obviously when I do what is described above the head has to move forward at some point.

Am I on the right track in terms of completing my swing?

normally if you post the left leg and do not get your hip outside the left ankle, you wont have to worry about the head moving past the ball. that is accomplished by putting the weight onto the left foot. If you feel it is all, your upper body, moving past the ball, I would suggest putting yourself on tape. But if you are hitting good shots dont worry about it, have more fun that way
