About to buy an R7 Taylormade driver. How do I determine what is best as far as shaft goes, should it be stiff flex or regular.

Look at your swingspeed, primarily, then at other things like your tempo and release point.

And then (rule of thumb for OEM's) buy one flex stiffer than you think you need.
