Hi i had my swing video taped at the driving range today, and watching it in slow motion its giving me another head ache.At the top of my backswing i noticed my arms and body had stopped but the club carried on causing it to flex, just a fraction but a definate spring to the flex in the shaft. Then without even starting the downswing i noticed the shaft bounce back causing my shoulders to spring forward a fraction at the same time or maybe just before i kick my left knee forward and start the downswing .The pro just laughed and said thats where my power comes from ive always fought a over the top move which i think ive cured but looking at my swing in slow mo i can see that the bounce causes my shoulders to go forward a fraction and even though i havent started my downswing my arms bounce up.Ithink im either too fast back or pause too long either way this is causing my downswing to be on a different plane it must do! The sad thing is ive always hit the ball a long way i THINK im catching the swing on the recoil from the pause or stop on the backswing altough at normal speed you cant see it just in slow motion

Re: club bounce
Try this drill to get the right feeling of transferring from the back to downswing..
Address a mid iron.
Place a ball just forward of your left toe.
Make a backswing (Nice and slow)
Just as you are about to reach the top take a step to the left with your left foot so that the ball is now inside your left heel.
Swing down and through to a balanced finish.
Don't be concerned about how you hit the ball just pick up on the transfer from the top into the downswing and through. When you can repeat this try it with a normal swing and ball position while retaining the wave like sensation during the transition.
Hope it helps.
