Everybody "thinks" differently, visualizes concepts differently, and responds to instruction differently. If a particular phrase or cliched instruction helps convey a message that produces the desired result, then it’s valid for THAT person, IMO.

i have always thought aj bonners hitting the nail into the equator of the ball gave me a better visual image of what i needed to to do than thinking of hitting down on the ball, in effect both are the same its just how you see it in your mind thats diffrent, i think kbp is right in use what gives you a message to do it right.
