  • Need some Analysis

Help.. Some of you guys gave me a few drills for spine angle and they worked a bit but I am still losing it by about 13 degrees (upright) and my butt is coming in around 6 inches during the downswing.. It is improved to what it was but its still not acceptable. My downswing swing plane is also too steep, 56 degrees, and it should be in the mid/low 40's..

I've read countless times what to do but some suggestions with actual swing thoughts would help a lot..

Here is my swing.. (sorry for bad quality, was a bad time of day to film)

You don't appear to have the problems you describe in the video. You do seem quite unbalanced at the end of your swing though, I think this is due to you pulling your back shoulder up and around severely in the follow through, this may be causing you to straighten up in other shots.

Try and keep the trailing shoulder down and back through impact and follow through, maintain the spine angle right through to the end. Also get that feeling like the side of your head is resting on a pillow while still maintaining the spine angle during the latter part of the swing as you look down the target line.

I think that you have a beautiful swing.

I don't see a too steep DS plane.

      See - http://jeffmann.net/SevenBallDS.jpg

Note that the butt end of your clubshaft points at the ball when your left arm is parallel to the ground, and in the second image note that your clubshaft cuts across the lower half of your left upper arm when your hands are at waist height - and that's near-perfect. It is true that some golfers have a slightly flatter DS plane, but your DS plane is much flatter than many golfers' DS planes. It could be related to your body shape - your hip-to-ground distance is less than your hips-to-shoulder distance.

Thanks for the kind words guys.. I suppose in the sceme of things the errors I see are only slight..

Ok, perhaps I am being too obsesive with it.. Yes I was unbalanced at the end of that swing.. I was really swinging hard yesterday.. Usually I give up 15 yards and just swing easy..
