    Hey

I think the way the feet work has not been too much of an issue as it should in the swing. We hear keep your weight evenly on the balls of your feet. That's great at address but as the swing starts the weight I believe moves torwards the outside of the right foot and more on the heel(without sway of course)....And on the downswing it shifts to the outside of the left foot as the right foot folds in(at impact the inside of the left foot should be up bit).I know this has effected my swing especially on the downswing-before I thought my weight was transferring but my left foot was blocking it(weight was on the inside of my left foot coming down),causing a poor hip rotation and whatever else.

There was a drill (can't remember who)-it was rocking the feet,on the backswing right instep lifts up while left foot folds-downswing left instep lifts up as the right folds.(without sway of course).

Advice has been great here don't stop on this one

    Re: Foot work

    Hi Dawg,

I try and keep my weight on the inside of my right foot during the back swing and inside the left on the downswing. This keeps me more centred on the ball and stops excessive swaying in the swing.

      Hey Bri

I understand what you are talking about-but for some reason I get stuck on my right side with little hip rotation until after impact sometimes and thought it was from my left foot kinda blocking my right side.

I think my left wrist has been breaking down before and at impact and I'm thinking this could be a BIG problem with my weight transfer (especially mid-long irons). My main focus now is keeping my right wrist angled as long as I can through the swing(keeping more lag)and I think that could be another piece to the puzzle.

      What cha think?

        Re: Foot work

I think the three things are seperate but all creating problems with your ball flight.

I would suggest keeping the weight on the insides of your feet and staying centred (Think of Leadbetters analogy of swinging in a barrel)

Work on the start of your downswing with a small forward slide of the hips followed by them rotating square as the club drops down to the halfway down position. Start the downswing by pushing your left knee out giving a squat look.

The flipping, yes you need to firm up a straight left wrist through impact. You can support it by maintaining an angle in the right wrist into impact (See Greg's right hand drill)

        Hope this helps

          Dawg:
Try turning on the downswing as you move the right knee into the left knee, this may help you not hang back and it gets that bump you are looking for.

I just tinkered with this in the yard- the weight staying inside the right foot on the backswing.Felt pretty cool and torqued up-then used takin's
input on the right knee moving towards the left.

I need to hits some balls with this feeling -but would that explain how alot of the pro's (it looks like to me ) haven't shifted their weight to the right-even though they have? Just by keeping it inside the right foot?

Man if that's the case that just fixed my whole golf swing......lol

Hogan reminds me of this picture

Am I on the right track?

            Thanks

                Hey

Just got back from hitting about 200 balls-The feeling of keeping my weight on the INSIDE of my right foot was awesome with the shorter irons(haven't hit them any better than that)but as we move on down the line 7,6,5 was a little different-on the tee they were good-off the deck they were going a little lower than normal and not as crisp.I'm not sure what was going on-maybe I wasn't swinger flatter with those.

                Thanks,

Maybe you need to consider your ball position. Do you alter it with longer clubs?

                    Re: Foot work

If you have access to Hogan's book power golf you will quickly see in the photos, his right shoe on the inside has added spikes, for more traction. He took them to a welder to have them done. So much for anchoring the inside of the right foot.
