a post on another thread which I am done on and leave it to jeff cause it is his thread

One thing I will say is I get offended if people call it luck. I busted my A$$ to get where I am If you only knew the amount of time and effort I have put in over the last year, you would understand where I am coming from a little better. personlly I eat out only one day a week, drink soda only one day a week, drink beer only one day a week, eat meat only one day a week, and the other six days I make almost all my own food, do exercises, read, and write among many other things. I have a cheat day, friday, cause I know no one can be perfect
So call that luck if you will but I work very hard at it and improving myself.

as far as natural remedies, some people need to clean out their bodies first and foremost. Fasting is known and documented to have great health benefits. just two weeks ago I fasted for four days and lost ten pounds. I felt good the whole time and had plenty of energy. I needed less sleep then normal and functioned great. I also know I had to work my way up gradually, started off first fasting for saturdays only on juice and water. I did that about 10 times before I tried an extended fast.

People get diseases from toxins and viatamin defeciency. why do they have deficiency? because toxins build up and block the absorbtion of vitamins, so they must first clean out to remove the blocks and then they can get rid of what ails them. so natural remedies often dont work because the lack a vitamin and even taking those vitamins is futile because the block will not allow the vitamins to enter the body where they need to and that is why pee comes out so strong in color when taking viatamins, the nutrients were not absorbed. Vitmins are digested throughout specific places in our body, so if you have a block in your stomach then the vitamins that are to be digested there will not be no matter how much you take. I tried natural remedies, chinese herbs, etc,.... and none worked, but cleaning myeelf out and doing other things have. I have been down many roads when it comes to my health and I did that for many years When I started changing my habits I got results, call that luck if you will.

also, back in the old days when peple went to the doctors the doctor would ask, how is your mind. a large portion of our sickness come from the mind, so people getting their head screwed on straight works wonders for their health.

as far as golf, I dont think there is a perfect swing or a perfect way to live life. I can use 3 swings and get results so why would I think one of those is perect? I know which one I think is mot effecient but I also know, for me, it is not as accurate as one of the others. Call me fortunate or lucky on that one too, but how did I get so lucky? I took the time to learn.

those are just my opininos some may agree, some may disagree, but really it is no big deal either way. I wish you the best of luck in golf and your practice. I would have respnded on the thread but I will hold to my word cause jeff is a nice guy, I am sure you are too

    Shootin,

I will not comment on diet or lifestyle, it is very important but not something I have studied to the degree you speak of.

Regarding the golf swing, people do have different swings just as they have different walks, runs, speech and all the things that go towards making each person an individual.

I think there are a number of fundamental components in a good golf swing that make it good, as there are a number of components in a bad swing that make it bad. It's like other things, swimming for example, the best swimmers have a smooth economic style that allows them to glide through the water, some are ungainly and splash with great effort but get nowhere. Just about anyone who is physically able can become a fair swimmer by adopting the best component actions of a good swimmer.

The golf swing is complex and not a natural set of actions for people to intrinsically adopt, they are opposites in many cases to what our instincts demand. We have all seen the complete beginner thrashing away with a driver and sending the ball a few yards.

I firmly believe that when someone wishes to start playing golf or improve a poor swing, they should learn a basic set of fundamental swing components, in my case that would consist of grip, stance, posture and alignment, followed by eight positions their clubface should arrive at through the swing (along with how the body, including the arms and hands, will best achieve these positions). This will set them on a good course for improvement. Now, as individuals they may wish to make certain adjustments and fine tune certain elements and that's good.

I know it is easier to stand back and see others doing the wrong things and not so easy in ones self. I guess I am now getting off the point a bit but, there are a small number of errors that so many golfers make that if improved they could easily become so much better: Poor grip, balance, alignment, weight transfer, tempo and narrowness in the swing being the major ones.

So, in conclusion: I agree there is not a "Perfect Swing" that is a one fits all solution. There are in my humble opinion though, a set of fundamental components that every golfer should base their swing on.

      brian,
and I, like you, beleive that nothing is more important then the set up. if we set up in a way that binds one of the muscles then we are behind the 8 ball before we even start. we must set up so the body can move naturally into golf like positions. but basically, yes the set up is where to start

Boy - I just had my coach say the same thing. I'm tearing my swing down and rebuilding - and right now everything is setup, setup, setup. We do video lessons during the winter (he teaches in Orlando), and right now it's not even video - just .jpg's.

My assumption is that once my setup is spot on, he's going to say "OK! Now swing the club back and through."

no longer keep one, no longer practice much, or play much. If my main concern was my handicap I would work with my hitting motion (tgm term on a style of swing that is very easy for me) only and have no doubts I could keep it below a 4 while only playing 1 or 2 times a month. I was a 4.2 in may, before I went on a 2 month surfing vacation, and have played less then 15 times since

I would expect that your hdcp would go down after surfing for 2 weeks. One of the best things for golf is to "get away" from it and reboot the mind.

maybe after two weeks but after about two months of surfing everyday, sometimes up to 5 hours, you would be suprised at how much muscle mass can be put on if you eat correctly. That alone will change the golf swing. I also have lost a lot of the passion for golf because it became too much of an obsession. Now I dont care so much and hopefully one day I will love the game more then be obsessed about it.
