  • Make a GREAT impact position...

I worked hard today to get to impact correctly. Shoulders should be square to SLIGHTLY open and hips should be open, belt buckle pointing at target or a little to the left. Straight line formed by left arm and left leg with weight almost fully on the left side. Head is back (behind the ball).

So...how did I get there...well, for me it is to make sure that i don't "Spin out" when i create the downswing. Tendency is to come over the top and not shift laterally before you uncoil your body through the ball. The correct motion is to shift you weight to your left side to initiate the downswing WITHOUT opening up to the target. Once you have shifted your weight, then you can release your body through it because the slight lateral shift of your weight to your left side will cause you to drop the club into the slot and hit from the inside!

The way I do this, for me is to imagine that my head doesn't rotate towards the target until I am at impact....this causes me to shift laterally first rather than spin out.

Do you guys have any tips or images for getting this to occur?

yes i always hit better shots with the lateral movement...keeping the right wrist cupped angle is very much importance when u do this..

a tip would be to think of hitting against a straight brick wall.. moving your hips laterally into the wall

however, do u get any back tension and pain from the lateral movement, when u reach follow through that is??
