Does anyone have any suggestions or drills for me to improve my tempo?
I remember watching Payne Stewart's fluid swing and even tempo and wishing I could maintain that throughout an entire round. Do I need to chew gum or what?

Go to the website for Australian Golf Schools and refer to the tips page. There is a drill called the continuous swing drill which if done for five minutes a day will improve your tempo as well as give you a good workout

Address a 7 iron. Without altering your posture raise your arms and the club up to head height and down again around 10 times without stopping. Remember the natural tempo you used to do this, now make your swing using the same tempo.

Are you talking about swinging "through" or just to the ball?

Sorry, I was not clear enough. From address swing it straight up and down in front of you by raising and lowering your arms straight up and down. Not back and forward.

I think I picked it up from the book "The Swing Factory" that explains Leslie King's golf teaching methods. He was acclaimed as being one of the best golf coaches in the world.
