in the downswing which side controls the pivot, the right hip or left hip? look at all the pros and you see a solid left side at impact, I think on that one point we will all pretty much agree. so now in order to pivot on our left side we must first shift our weight over there. try this
stand up at address, now shift your weight, meaning your belly button and your base of spine, untill your left hip gets just outside of your left foot while keeping your head back. Now from there try to rotate your left hip back and see how it feels
now back to address, shift over to left side again and rotate your right hip out towardst the target on a 45* angle, which way got the hips to rotate easier?

For me it is hard to tell because I have a "fall back" move at transition and before I know it, I am already back on my left side. I would say that I "feel" more left hip than right hip from then on.

stand up tall and feet hip width apart, now keep your head almost still and shift your weigh to your left so you can balance on your left leg, when you do that you should not be falling back
