  • Any suggestion/help anyone can give me!!!!!!!

I have been golfing for about 6 years with a handicap of about 15, I play atleast twice a week. Ok heres the thing ive been playing all this time and only this season my middle left finger started to hurt, oh by the way i am a right hander so my left middle finger hurts before the round is over, its so bad that i cant bear to make a close fist, the pain last for about a week until i play again over the weekend, again i never had this problem before. Can someone help me and tell me what i am doing wrong. Heres more information if it might help, i interlock my fingers and use a power/strong grip.
anything would help, but i dont want to hear for me to not play so often, cause it wouldnt matter, i took a few weeks off and then played a round and the pain was there. anyways thanks ahead of time for those who respond.

my friend i sympathise 100%, ask your gp to arrange a cortisone injection, yes it hurts like hell, but only for a week or two, cured my tennis elbow and finger joints, didnt improve my golf though, good luck mate.

I had the same problem about 20 years ago. It turned out to be arthritis. I switched from my interlock grip to the ten finger one as recommended by my M.D. at the time. Over time that started to create pain in my right pinkie, so I switched to the over lap grip, and have been using it for the past 10 years with no golf caused pain issues in either hand. If this last grip fails me, and causes pain, there is one more left to try, but I need to see it to discribe it correctly. GJS

Easy enough trial treatment--- Drink at least 2-3 liters of water a day to wash out the impure accumulation in your joints. Yes, go everywhere with that bottle of water, seriously. If this does not work after a month, consult your physician...

            Hi,

I had the same trouble start last year. At first it was diagnosed as tendonitis. After a while it was rediagosed as arthritis. I find taking one acetominiphen for arthritis about 1 hour before I play has kept it from getting too sore afterwards.

If it is what I think it is....it's called trigger finger. It won't go away on its own and could ultimately get worse. I had surgery on my right index (trigger) finger. The doctor made a small incision, released the tendon and three stiches later it was done. I was back playing golf in about a week. It was not at all painfull. Type in tigger finger on the search engine and you will find out all you need to know about the procedure. My wife had it done on her thumb and has had no problem. What happens is that your tendon gets hung up and needs to be released. It really is a simple procedure. But you should see a doctor about it to make sure that is what is happening in your case.

Try a different method to hold the club. Check the grip size as well. If it's too small, you may have to apply more pressure than otherwise.

Hey Thanks everyone for the replies, I found out the reason why it was in pain. I was gripping my club to hard with my left hand, also i was gripping it closer to the palm instead of gripping it with my fingers,
ive been playing the last 4 times pain free. Thanks again
