  • Duck Hooking?

Hey guys, recently my golf game has been great, but I used to have a bad slice and I had widened my swing to get rid of it and was hitting the ball great but now I'm hooking my shots a lot. I'm working with my pro right now, I can control it but usually I'll end up have about 2 of these shots per round where they hook way off target and end up ob.

The shots start straight down the middle where I aim them and then end up left. I think I may be closing the club face because my pro had me hit a cut where i tried to leave my left hand as open as possible then he said to try and make it a little bit less open on the next shot and I hit it great. I then went to the range and was hitting decent shots but a lot of hooks but it may have been due to me being tired i had just played 27 holes and could barely hold the club when i got done. I know that was a bad idea lol. But if you guys have any drills to help me get the club face squarer if that is indeed the problem or any other advice id appreciate it.

One other thing: my pro noticed that I was double crossing my self (foot and shoulders not parallel, my feet were aiming to the right and my shoulders parallel to my target.) He's having me work on that, and also standing closer to the ball.

Sorry for all of the typing but I wanted to give you guys as much info as possible.

    Thanks,
    gatorguy

    Re: Duck Hooking?

sounds like you have an outside - in swing plane.

you need to square everything up. shoulders with feet.

also sounds like your using your arms to hit the ball. you need to rotate your shoulders 90degrees on the backswing also.

your grip is probably right, but you have to align everything up to hit it straight.

yeah come to think of it I do use my arms too much. As for my swing plane i'm not sure if thats what the problem is because my pro said it was fine. I'm going out to play today so hopefully I'll get it figured out.
