I would very much like to implement the RHD into my swing, but it confuses me. I've watched the video(s) and I recognize the concept of maintaining the right wrist locked position throughout the swing, so as to create lag and leverage for a powerful impact, but what I don't understand is how the up and down hinge works. It is basically saying that in order to keep the wrist cocked and still hit the ball, you just drop the wrist vertically or downward at some point on the downswing just before impact?
I basically don't understand at which position in the swing this "up and down or pop the ground" approach happens.
Also, does this drill have any effect on the swing plane? Does it correct over the top? Should I strive to have the belt buckle at the target now for impact? I have a lot of trouble with the timing of my hips as it is and I worry that this may cause problems.
Thanks for any help. You guys are always great with assistance.
