It is usually the fundamental points of grip, posture and tempo. I found if things go wrong with my game and I cannot fix it after 2 to 3 guesses; gong back to the basics does wonders.
I'm a golfaholic, no question about that. Counseling wouldn't help me. They'd have to put me in prison, and then I'd talk the warden into building a hole or two and teach him how to play. ~Lee Trevino
Poor body alignment from the feet, up through to the shoulders. I see good grips, and decent swings all the time. Poor alignment will miss the target everytime, regardles of those good grips, and swings. GJS
1. Gripping club too tightly
2. Gripping with hands opposing one another
3. Swinging too fast and hard
4. Swing off plane
5. Not completeing the backswing
6. Coming over the top
Excellent points, For some reason I forgot how to swing between last year and this spring.
Its scary, I finally slowed my swing down and got back in the grove.
I was swinging too hard in the backswing and looking up before I would hit the ball..
I thought this would be the death of me..I did take a lesson a month ago he kept telling me to slow down , but I didn't get untill now. I have a problem of hitting the ball fat. I can tell I'm also standing up in the swing..
I hope I can continue to build on what I have learned the last 2 days.
Thanks for the help guys.
Id agree with Greg. I also see them trying to hit it in the air by either scooping or hitting off the back foot. The high handicappers who actually hit it alright tend to have poor course management, they go for shots that are not on like threading it through trees or try to smash 3 woods from deep rough thinking they may actually make the green when even the best players would not make it. They try and make par by hitting hero shots then get frustrated when they take doubles and triples. the low handicapper puts the ball back in play and makes bogey or gets up and down for par.
