  • Simple little things i would like answered!

ok guys i do live on a golf course so i try new things every day but im younger so its always hard to learn things without a teacher...first off going through countless other golf sites makes no sense to me because they all say something is different...so ill ask you guys becuase you guys tend to help each other fix points and make it a plausible fact

k now if i put the ball closer to my body in a iron swing..what will happen..same to farther away from my body..

how do you correctly hit the ground after the ball? (i tend to just hit the grass with the ball)

putting the ball forward in your stance makes it go higher and shorter correct?

in a flop shot..should you swing the club around your body at a low angle to sweep under it..or at a high pickup backswing and down through it?

does ne one have a picture of a correct flop shot stance (mine has gotten worse lately and feels bad)

how can you get easier backspin on your driver...or on your irons?

if your club is facing out from your head but your wrist are still in at the height of your backswing...would that cause an outside in swing and make a slice?...same if you let the club point to the left would it cause an inside out swing to make a draw?

i know some of these questions but hey why not get some more opinions on them...thank you guys!

Ball closer to body = cut + slightly higher.
Ball farther from body = draw + slightly lower.
Ground is struck AFTER the ball.
Forward in stance = higher, yes.
Flop-shot needs a high backswing with a steep angle of attach down.
This flop-shot is essentially the same as a sand-shot: Open stance, ball forward, blade facing AT target, swing path equal to your open stance angle. So you are facing anywhere from 5-45 degrees open and you should swing to that exact angle. The more open you are, the higher it will go and the harder you have to hit to to make it go the same distance. The difference is the hight and spin you get.
Less backspin = flatter angle of attack. So on a driver, think swinging LOW-to-HIGH, like you are swinging UP on it. This will flatten the face angle into the ball and put less spin on it. Irons are the same.
The last question is not as clear. But if you are talking about swing path, the in-to-out path CAN cause a draw as long as the face angle is square to your target at impact. Same as an out-to-in being a slice.

thank you very much.....now what is a better way of slowing your hand rotation through your swing....is there any drills to help me with that..beacuse i still have a slight and sometimes drastic draw which i want to cut down bit by bit back to straighter hitting.

Try my Right Hand Drill. This basically eliminates the worry of hand rotation and uses body rotation...much easier to control.

hmmm....i looked at it....very interesting... i may try that sometime...and i used to actually swing a lot like that...but now my swing is more basic so ill see if i can incorporate a lot of your technique and see what happens!
