Hello Guys,
I'm a new member from N.Ireland and this is my first post. I started playing 3 years ago & I currently play off 10. I've had 3 lessons but I like to analyse and study my own swing myself. As i made reference to i'm 6' 5" (196cms) tall and i've really been trying to find my most reliable swing plane. Early on i learned a very flat plane going back to try & compensate for a casting action coming down. I'm in the process of weeding out my poor release and was told by my pro to steepen my plane going back. I've been trying this but most of the time i seem to come into the ball at the 3 o clock position and if i release (like i'm told) it starts down the middle and quickly turns left(theres only so much of that shot a man can stomach before the big block comes out!). Personally it feels like because of my height i've trouble with the top of the back swing positions and consequently can't get the club to fall in the slot. i've been messing about with my right elbow on the backswing too which has only made things worse. For some reason it feels like it all stems from what my hands are doing coming down, if they are active at all, the club head goes out past the hands slighltly. Any ideas for something to be working on.
Thanks
