Has anybody else experienced this? A strange "problem" to have I agree, but the fact is this is the main cause of my errors these days - in making sure I don't go to parts of the course you really can't afford to be, I keep aiming left to allow for a possible fade and hitting the ball right there, ending up with the lesser of two evils, ie bunker or rough left of green instead of the OOB or water hazard on the right.

That happens to me alot. I always set up for a draw, and sometimes the ball does not draw, and flies relatively straight. But like you said it is the better of the two evils. I think it was Nicklaus who pointed out it was better to play you normal ball flight to the pin. His reasoning was if you naturally played a fade, and you aimed to the left of the pin, even if the ball did not fade, and flew straight, that was still better than aiming at the pin, but having the ball fade farther away from the pin to the right. Of course this depended on pin placement, and how much room the green allowed. Bottom line always aim away from trouble when ever possible, while factoring in possible ball flights. Fades, and draws are not slices, and hooks. GJSComment
