Okay, the last time I posted, I noted that frustration was setting in. This may sound funny to some folks when I post this, but here it goes.
I shot a 104 yesterday, but I felt pretty good about it. Here's why. Last time I posted, I was pulling my irons to the left. Since I had not had time to go to the range, I simply tried to account for this and set up to the right of my target. Worked pretty well.
Part way through my round I figured I would strengthen my grip. (Read this tip in the latest issue of Golf Digest.) Worked pretty well. In fact, hit some of the most crisp iron shots ever.
But the biggest reason I am encouraged is this. I shot a 52 and a 52. However, on the front side I posted a 9, an 8 and a 7. On the back I posted two 7's and an 8. If I can keep these big scores off my card, I will be a little less frustrated. Most of these big scores came from poor play inside 100 yards. Must devote time to the short game.
