Hi mattyblast,
This is a strange one. Normally you get a situation were people tend to hit the ball heavy (too much ground before the ball) on the course by practicing too much on the range.
It does seem strange that you are not topping the ball on the range. I would address this problem by checking through the following points:
1. Grip - There could be too much tension in your grip. Remember feel like your holding a tube of toothpaste just hard enough not to squeeze any out!
2. Check your Ball Position, it could be too far forward or back.
3. Keep your knees lightly flexed at address.
4. You may be lifting your head just prior to impact with the ball. Keep your head as steady as possible with your eye on the ball.
Good Luck and let me know how you get on.
