    I have provided a link for Ben Hogan’s downswing – for those of you unable to view it, during the initial phase – just above hip high – if I got it right – the arms are static – they drop down as a consequence of the body rotating. I have seen Jim McLean illustrate the same drill. Is this still ideal…. I don’t have a downswing trigger and feel I am too armsy. Is Hogan’s downswing method something to work on during the winter….

    Compare your clip to these below of Snead and Hogan. In your clip, Hogan attempts to explain his technique but he does not hit a ball. In these clips below, Hogan hits balls during an actual tournament. I think that whatever Hogan did during that tournament should be more useful than what Hogan himself tried to tell us in his own words. I think it's a case of look at what he does, not what he says.
