Re: applying sk1
Cmays, your statement sums you up. By all means disagree, promote your own ideas, but to argue by this means of personal attack just portrays you as a bigot. If that's what you wish to be seen as then so be it!
I never brag and I am certainly not stupid! I guess you have some kind of inferiority complex and see me as a threat. You really should take some counseling and see if there are some deep seated insecurities that bring out these irrational outbursts.
I do have some understanding of the game and like to think I can make an articulate contribution where I can. If you like, I am also open to helping you here, I will consider proof reading your posts and putting them into a format where they could be comprehensible prior to posting!
It is such a shame that some have a different opinion to you and I know that seems incomprehensible at this time, I am sure that if you invest some of the considerable revenue you earn from teaching golf into a good therapy program you will eventually come to terms with it.
Oh! nearly forgot. Why not purchase the book, then you may know what you are talking about.Last edited by BrianW; 11-10-2007, 10:17 PM.

Re: applying sk1
I have had enough of this rubbish and if the way this guy operates is acceptable then I will get off the site for good. Please can a Forum Moderator sort it out? The rubbishing of anyone with a contrary opinion by this guy is unhealthy on a good site like this.

Wake Up, you are in the real world now, not "Brian's World of Fantasy."
quote]
Why Fantasy Cmays?
Brian is, and claims to be, no more than a low handicap club golfer who is trying to pass on some off the things that he has learnt along the way to others, you are entitled to disagree with what he says, even to "rubbish it" if done in a spirit of constructive criticism but please refrain from personal invective.
You see we know as fact what Brian is.
But, as for you, you may be a great teacher, you may not be, the point is no-one knows. All we see are your claims.
With Greg H we know where he teaches, as we do with Graham Arnott and Kevin Macdonald - I've even see Kevin teach from an adjoining bay at Hersham and I could talk to his and Joe Fagan's pupils if I wished; we have a verifiable biog from Greg W. But from you?
Well we have been told by you that you spent your working life employed by the Federal Government and that along the way and since you have developed a successful teaching practice.
Good I hope that is true - and I'd be envious - because if it is and you are as good as you claim then many, many golfers will have benefited.
The trouble is - and I write as someone who way back when strenuously defended your right to post on here when others tried to drive you away (ironically so did Brian) - you are lose credibility in the eyes of many when you quote Butch and David and Vivay and all but don't tell where, when and who you have taught so that we can sit back and say "Wow that Cmays is good".

Re: applying sk1
Excuse me?
Show me exactly where I attacked you in that post or any previous posting and I will apologise for doing so.
In the meantime; "You pay and then you see" doesn't cut it with me I'm afraid, nor does it dispel the unsmistakeable stench of BS. Large Texas bulls at that.
Tell you what though why don't we all be reasonable about this?
If you let us know where you teach we'll find the nearest impartial forum member, preferably a beginner, and get them to come along to spend an hour or so with you. With your success I guess you could afford to think of it as a pro bono lesson.

without diluting the 3sk's , is there anything in the set up that would help to hit down ?
cmays talks of right foot then left foot.also if you want to hit down at 20degs then swing up at 20degs.
also seen a video which shows how the swing bottoms out in front of the sternum, so if you move the sturnum forward in the downswing would this not make for taking a divot easier.
only been practicing the 3sk's for 5 weeks , seen a great improvement, but still dont get that sweet spot every time.
any help appreciated.
I have neglected to look at any other replies because this is simple, all you need to do is stop thinking about anything else, it is clear to me that you are still thinking of other things, just set up square and correctly then do nothing else but hit the imaginary nail into the ball, forget about where the ball goes at first.....................just nail it.

Ian.
firstly, i worked out why i was'nt taking any turf, a remnant of my old swing , when i nipped the ball cleanly off the grass,my left leg straightened before contact.so i sorted that out and then looked at where the bottom of my swing arc was, too much to the right.
i then applied the snippets of info gained from this thread, namely move left leg 1st then right and keep more wieght on the left.also kept my left foot square to the target, not splayed out like before.
as you will agree, all of this is in the initial set up , which is what i was after in this thread.
i then just freely applied the 3sk's and found i was finding the sweet spot and taking a divot 90% of the time.also noticed the pulls to the left had gone.
hitting most shots straight with the odd one a bit right or left, dut i reckon most would have been on the fairway.
so thanks to all who posted on this thread, i was able to pick out the bits i thought would help . sorry it started another war of words, i suppose it shows how passionate we are about this great game. i still say you can get a lot out of this site , you just have to be a little selective .
once again many thanks guys

No because you have deleted the post - cheap trick
As far as the federal govt. and all my life, Brian stated that. Brian has a habit of making his little comments after my post, I made the big one.
Er no the fed gov ref came from an ninterview you gave elsewhere in whiuch you admitted that you had no teaching qualifications whatsoever
Sorry, do not walk out of the door for free, lessons are 2 hours long . Interesting in why you would want a beginner, you could cut strokes from a beginner correct?
Not sure I could cut strokes from a beginner but then I don't claim to be an ace coach. Can still smell that texas BS.
Anything in the golf swing you would like to discuss?
If I want to discuss the swing is there any chance that you will reply a) politely b) without regurgitating all the books you have read c) without claiming any ideas you vomit out are your own?

Well, as I said Cmays, not in this thread or at least not anymore because you somehow appear to have deleted your post. But, just so that everyone knows, between 08:17 and 09:45 (my two posts in the thread) I received this email from GTO timed at 09:30.
Dear bdbl,
cmays has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - applying sk1 - in the Golf Swing Instruction forum of Golf Forum | golftuitiononline.com.
This thread is located at:

Here is the message that has just been posted:
***************
*Too Bad, So Sad.*
You pay and then you see. You may even get a lesson in allowing the club to travel a little inside to out while the hands travel to the inside. *No!* Only people who can afford my services which do not hang around on golf forums except to laugh.
Think what you want. Attack me, that is great, *now is there something you want to discuss about golf and try to attack me on?*
*Tip*:
Pick the soda can off the ground or bottle, even a can of air freshener and place it under your right armpit and practice your putting stroke.
***************
There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again.
All the best,
Golf Forum | golftuitiononline.com
I wonder if that entitles me to use the "Liar, Liar Pants on fire" argument; I've no idea really but I guess most people might wonder whether if you are ahem ready to mislead over a post just how much they can trust your advice.
Gosh that smell gets even stronger don't it , darn it. Lucky cows don't fly in Mobile.

Work on your skills, there are 6 for each ball flight plus a few added extras and you will tell us when?
I would have just liked to leave this now but you just cant stop it can you? I don't like to show you up for the bigot you are but it's just to easy and to call you stupid is an insult to stupid people, so I wont do it.Last edited by BrianW; 11-11-2007, 05:24 PM.
