    Re: off the toe

    Hi,

Check you are not standing too far away from the ball (Should be a hands width between the butt end of the club and your left thigh) Check the ball is not too far back in your stance.

What's the ball flight? Is it going right? Or maybe a small toe draw? Straight perhaps with bad contact?............Could be a number of things that's causing that.

I agree what Brian said but I would add that you should check you are lifting up on the downswing trying to put the ball on flight with your body; normaly the shorter the club the more you try to do that.

          thanks for replying
the ball flight is straight to a draw but with bad contact, never hit the sweet spot, will try to move the ball forward in my set up , interesting point about lifting up in the down swing , any drills out there to solve this

          thanks

            Re: off the toe

Often, these sorts of problems are caused by poor weight transfer and excessive movement during the swing.

Certainly, it's essential to maintain your forward spine tilt throughout the swing. That will solve a lot of problems. Then, make sure you're not swaying excessively in the backswing.

had a trip out to the range today to work on them short irons, i must say the advice i was given seem to make a big improvement, i tryed to work on not swaying on my backswing and keeping my right knee flexed to stop lifting, not quite there yet but going in the right direction
thanks gents, ill keep you posted

                hi gents
i know its been a long time but i thought i would let you know that i have sorted the problem of hitting off the toe , the sway in my swing didnt help but the main problem seems to have been addressing the ball with to much weight on the balls of my feet, when i hit the ball my weight became more balanced leaving me further away from the ball
