    Hi Mike,

Your swing looks pretty good. I would suggest a few things to work on:

Try bending a little more from the hips at address, you are very upright. You mentioned that your backswing was low, actually it's OK but will seem to be higher with a little more bend.

Do this drill as often as you can: Take a club and hold it across your chest with crossed arms, have the shaft pointing out left. Bend from the hips to around 30 degrees and allow some flex in your knees. Now turn back as if making a backswing but make sure you are rotating around your spine so that your left shoulder turns right under your chin. Note that the shaft should be pointing at or just a bit forward of the ball, not way in front of it. Turn back through into the forward swing still rotating around your spine so that there is little sway and your head stays behind the ball. Keep practising this and pick up on maintaining your spine angle throughout and minimising sway.

Take a look at this site and the "Maintain Spine Angle Drill" video.

EDIT: DOH!!! didn't post the link. Here it is:

I concur with BrianW about the posture. A bit more bend at the hips combined with a bit more bend at the knee will do wonders for you.

I see something else. It's difficult to see clearly but it seems the ball is far forward. When it's too far forward, the tendency is to swipe it outside in and upward. When it's too far back the tendency is to strike downward steeply and inside out. Both are extremes and in between those extremes is easier to deal with.

Perhaps you are trying to strike the ball upward and that's probably a good thing with the driver. But I advise to try other positions to see what gives best results. There's nothing wrong with striking the ball downward with any club including the driver. As long as you send the ball to your target, any way you strike the ball is fine. Start with the ball between your feet and go from there. If the ball shoots severely to either side, before you think to change ball position I suggest you change nothing except clubface alignment at first. Once you're able to send the ball straight then you can align yourself to send it to your target. And perhaps adjust ball position to fine tune a bit.

In the video, you are striking balls into a net. Place a target in the net and aim for it when you strike balls. It will help with clubface alignment. Once you get to practice outside at the range, you will find if you swipe the ball or not. If you do, then at least you start with good clubface alignment and can work on clubhead path. That's because it's almost impossible to see if the ball curves on such a short distance. It's obvious at the range.

OK here is what I see, you stand up a little at impact, that is called coming out of the shot. Basically your hips are sliding up under the body, this is caused mostly by bad balance, you get out onto the toes and you body automatically moves them hips forward to keep from falling over, which will also make you stand up. A little more flex in the knees will move the butt back a bit, balance you out better, also try starting the downswing with a small sit-down move, don't go crazy here, just a small move like you were about to sit down, this has the benefit of keeping your knees flexed longer, you straighten out through impact, we want the opposite action.

Yea, that right knee looks like its almost locked at impact it's so straight. Gotta keep that flex.

100 percent right man looking at slow motion of my swing i can clearly see that my right knee is locked at impact its just i dont know how to fix these problems everything happens so fast in the downswing what i feel im trying to is not what im doing in reality. As butch harmon once said "feel and real are too different things" so any body got any drills that would help me feel the correct hip movements in my downswing

Michael, I'm sorry that I was unable to help with the advice I gave you through private message. I will try again. Perhaps this time I will be successful in advising you appropriately.

We learn by watching. Watch and learn. Monkey see, monkey do. I could go on and on about how we learn but suffice to say we learn how to do things by watching others do it. We also learn by experimenting ourselves by trying out new ideas.

Now that we've learned or found the idea, it's time to practice it.

When we learn something new, we can either try it at full speed and repeat until we get it. Or we can try it in slow motion and repeat until we get it. Full speed requires a great deal of dexterity and we must be very quick both mentally and physically. Slow motion is much easier. It's a function of the amount of time we have to think the motion through. At full speed there is little time to think. In slow motion we have all the time we need to think about the motions. Thus it's much easier to learn something new in slow motion than at full speed.

Then there's learning something that closely resembles something else. For instance, the golf swing. We know how to swing the club already. We just don't know how to strike the ball properly with it yet. So perhaps we don't know how to swing the club properly after all. So we learn to swing it properly but the proper way closely resembles the improper way. As such, it's easy to just do it the old way and keep making the same mistakes over and over. We could keep at it at full speed and repeat until we get it. But again, there's no time to think the motion through. We're not learning. It's best to learn in slow motion because there is ample time to think it through.

This is not new. It's been done for ages in all kinds of activities. If you've ever seen an athlete or anybody repeat something very slowly, he's probably practicing something new, trying to get it right. To think the motion through. With further practice, eventually we don't need to think it through. We can just do it.

That's strange, it loads without registration and plays when I use it.
