  • pulling left....help!

I've been playing golf for around 10 years, probably only once or twice a fortnight and currently on a 20 handicap.
In the early years, I fought an over the top move and drives either went straight or sliced to the right.
In the last few years, I find my game has changed and my driver and 3/5 woods (when I get quick) now tend to pull left. (no slice)
Irons 8-4 tend to progressively draw stronger from right to left with the 8 only slight and getting stronger as clubs progress. (I tend to aim right of the target)
I have previously changed to a more square stance, rather than open and I think this has had an effect.
    Any suggestions?

Like many faults pulls can have numerous causes. Aligment is often one of them, and from what you said when you adjusted your stance alignment it helped (That may have adjusted your hip position slightly too. Make sure your shoulders and hips aren't aligned too far left too as that can result in pulls). Two other things that often cause a pull are weight shift and swing path. If your weight is shifted off your back foot and leg too soon your body will open and your swing will follow it along the path. A thought a number of pro golfers have used when they have found themselves pulling shots left is to feel like they are keeping their back foot on the ground longer during the downswing (some have said they try to feel like they are flat footed at impact). You could also try the thoughts of maintaining your back knee's flex as you start down, or holding your back hip from rotating too soon as you start down.
