None of it is that serious. No ones house has been burned down, no ones dog has been shot and they are still serving my favorite beer at the pub

      1. Unnecessary post, really. Cheap shot. You could have simply been safe in the knowledge that what you told him helped. It's just lowered the tone of the thread still further. Your previous attempts at taking the higher road have been shot to hell by your own post.

      2. He must have some gargantuan par 3's at his course if there's 18 fairways! (he said, still attempting to lighten the mood!)

      This is a funny thread!
      1. How exactly is it a cheap shot? I figured if I let people know that the OP had been helped that people would leave it at that and move on. Not trying to lower the tone....others have taken care of that. Oh well.

      2. Talk about cheap shots. You can't even let it be even after you know the guy has been helped. An attempt to lighten the mood....rrrriiiiiiiightt.

Anyway, it doesn't matter if the guy hits it 100 yards or 400 yards....he came on here looking for help and got ridiculed for the most part. I am happy knowing that I could provide some advice that helped him out. Hopefully other new comers can find what they're looking for in the future as well. Ridicule is not the way to help out....no matter how much you think the person may be exaggerating.

      Over and out.

The op came on here to hype his distances only to find we were wise to what he was attempting to do.
Lesson: when you seek help, tell the truth.

And what was your contribution, if any?

                      Re: Funky Driving

I merely observed a rather silly spat between adults. In the grand scheme of things, I don`t think it really matters how far someone can, or cannot, hit a golf ball. If you had been through what I have been through in the last 12 months, you would realise it really doesn`t matter. Regards, Arny.

                        Re: Funky Driving

Some people can hit a golf ball those distances. I live about 80 miles south of Mesquite, NV where they hold long drive championships. I have seen some carries way past 350 yards at this event, and still keep the ball in the grid. Of course there are some equipment modifications, such as longer shafted drivers, and I think they use Pinnacle balls for the most part. But almost all of these long knockers will tell you their approach shots, and short games are very poor. I would recommend that anyone who can carry the ball 350+ yards should look into some long drive qualifying events. There's a few bucks to made at these events. GJS
