  • Need help fixing my driving problem

Lately while I am driving my ball i put a lot of backspin on the ball. So much backspin on the ball that when it hits the ground the ball goes backwards and makes a huge divot. It also does not help that i hit the ball high and it kills my driving distance. I have no clue what im doing wrong. I use a Taylormade burner (10.5 degree) and a Diablo (9.5 degree) and i see no difference between the two.
If you need more information just ask thank you for the help

I was waiting for someone better qualified to answer this but, since they haven't, I'd suggest that you are hitting down on the ball. Ty moving the ball forward a bit so that impact is as, or just after, the downswing levels out.

I agree with Robin. You are probably hitting steep and should be catching the ball on the upswing so that you create less spin.

Agreed with both above...if moving the ball foward doesnt help, try stepping a half inch or so away from the ball at set up and attempt to swing on a flatter plane. This will help you to sweep the ball off of the tee instead of hit down on it and should also help promote a draw which will also help to reduce all of that backspin.
