  • Distance off the tee

    Hi Guys
I am seriously losing distance with my driver, averaging about 210m from the tee( hit my 3 wood the same distance). I am 6.3", and quite fit, getting average distance with my irons - 7 iron about 155mm.
Please help, as I have been reading quite a lot and trying quite a lot of things.
Must say I do not get that nice driver ballflight, tends to go quite high most of the times.

Here's my take. If available, go to club fitter and get checked out. The fact that hit your driver no farther than your 3w, suggests that your driver might have the wrong loft, and possibly the wrong shaft for your swing. It could also be that your 3w matches up better to your swing, which gives you distance equal to your driver. Perhaps you have a glitch in your physical driver swing that is causing you to lose distance Then again if I converted correctly, 230 yards is not that uncommon of distance for, higher handicap amateurs when using their drivers. There has also been some pretty impressive arguments that some golfers are not able to swing these larger 460cc drivers faster than they can their trimmer 3 woods. That said, you are hitting your 7i 170 yards, ("MM" typo?) so your driver distance is a lot shorter than it should be, when compared to your 7i, which leads back to the loft, shaft, and possibly swing issues. A quality club fitter can identify any of these problems if they exist for you. GJS

A video of your swing would be helpful.
