  • high right drives

I've been having problems with my drives going high and right. My distance is fine I just can't control my direction very well. I have been trying to stop a little flip I have always had now I notice the high rights are starting to creep into my iron game. I've experimented with ball postition, grip, etc. but haven't had any luck. My handicap is starting to creep up. I was a 9.5 now a 10. Any help would be apprecitated.

Your clubface will be open and maybe opening through impact. This will add loft that makes it fly high and will have the face pointing right which will push it right.

You need to work on getting the club coming down from the inside and also squaring the clubface.

    See if this video helps:

May be the legs. under active legs at impact cause pulls, overactive legs at impact and lunging at the ball cause pushes.

check your grip, it may be too weak, also check too make sure the club is not closed at address, i.e if you lift the club to horizontal is the toe pointing straight up, if it is shut you may be compensating on the downswing and opening it up to prevent a pull.

You may be coming out of the shot a little or alot. Try to stay down and through impact while puching off right foot. also, as I have said before, ad nauseum, keeping the arms and hands relaxed should allow you to release which would produce a draw assuming all other factors are in favor of that.
