    Re: Is my distance ok??

Yeah, I have worked extensively on just gettin my accuracy up with my longer clubs and off the tee. Doing so, i have massively improved my game by hitting more fairways deeper down, leaving wedges and short irons to greens, not to mention the new baffler makes hitting 230 from the turf as easy as as hitting a PW 130. Typically my short game is strong: the overall best part of my game. When i went out two days ago, i didn't do anything particularly well except chip and that put me at +8 and i struggled like none other putting: i think the count was 32

With my longer irons i have shortened my backswing a bit to stay more compact. I also do this with my driver and i find when i do this i can really go after the ball through contact and not go too far astray. Short on the backswing and solid on the follow. Driver i lash for the follow through but this should help rick. Try playing a little cut with your driver too to help out.

Have you always been able to see three knuckles? I usually see about 2 to 2.5 and that works well for me. Also try opening your stance some, after you align to the ball, leaving the clubface where it was.

          I see basically three options:

1: You stay with your 3 knuckles and find a way to get your body out in front to nullify your hands release.

2: You rotate your right hand just a bit to the 2-2.5 range and release earlier on your irons whilst hitting your driver straight.

3: You do nothing and don't hit your driver whilst hitting your irons extremely well and just have to live with bad spots off the tee.

Whatever you do, see your coach before you jack with your swing. Talk to him about ways to fix your driver and I am sure that the driver you have isn't the problem. Infact check out your grip compared to his. His grip is probably larger, which may be where you have to go to get a good release.

            Re: Is my distance ok??

This is my third year of golfing and this is my first summer of owning a driver. Toward the end of last summer I finally broke into the single digits only using my irons, putter and a 4 wood. After my purchase in February and a lot of practice I've dropped another 2 stokes to a 6 index I hope to play to a 2 or 3 index by the beginning of September.

I will never make fun of someone who tries hard to play golf. I will however make fun of you the entire round of golf if you can hit 300 yards and don't have a single digit handicap. I love to watch people learn to play golf, I don't mind watching people hit the ball poorly a few times a hole, it even amuses me because I know that used to be me and I hope that people put up with me then.

But if you get up on tee box and proceed to hit a ball 270+ yards and then proceed to take another 5 or 6 shots to get in the hole, believe me the people in your group could care less about your drive, they'll be laughing at you behind your back about the rest of your game.

Hey all you hackers that love to go to the range and the first club you pull out of your bag to hit is the driver, thanks for all the ear piercing noise!!! I really love the people that hit driver 30 of the 40 balls and then hit the other 10 with wedges and shank every one of them.
